I've stood where you're standing.
At 34, my husband left me with three children: a 4-year-old, a 19-month-old and an 8-week-old baby. I'd been a stay-at-home mom with no financial independence. I remember standing in an empty house and realizing no one was coming to save me.
So I rebuilt, and went on to spend 25 years on national radio. But love was another story. I dated for almost ten years after my divorce, choosing men by their resume instead of the relationship I wanted. At 43, after wearing a ring for twelve months, my engagement ended.
Effort was never my problem. I was running the wrong play.
When I changed my strategy, everything changed. In 2020 I met my husband, Sean, on Hinge, on purpose. Today we're a blended family of seven. That strategy became The Playbook, and in 10 years of coaching I've taught it to more than 1,200 women.
Why it feels so hard
Dating after divorce is different. Your strategy should be too.
When you were last single, there were no apps, no "situationships" and no kids' schedules to work around. Now you're dating with:
- Less time. Between work, custody schedules and everything you carry, you can't spend months on a man who isn't serious.
- More at stake. Your kids are watching how you're treated. You don't get to bring just anyone home.
- An old map. The instincts that chose your ex can quietly choose his twin. Without a plan, history repeats.
- A confidence gap. You've been a wife and a mom for years. "Who am I on a first date?" is a real question.
None of this means you're behind. It means you need a different play, not more effort.
The Playbook
What changes when you have a plan.
Women who work with me learn to:
- Know what they're choosing. Get clear on how you want to feel in a relationship, not just what looks good on paper.
- Date on a system that fits your real week, even with kids, a career and a custody calendar.
- Spot a healthy man early, and spot the one who'll waste your time even earlier.
- Decide faster. Know in five dates, not five months.
- Show your kids what a healthy, respectful relationship looks like.

Questions
Questions divorced women ask me.
How soon after divorce should I start dating?
There's no magic number, but there is a readiness test. Can you talk about your ex without the conversation becoming about him? Do you know what you want this time, not just what you don't? If you can answer yes to both, you're closer than you think. The Game Plan helps you check.
Will men want to date a woman with kids?
Yes, the right ones will. Many of my clients' partners love that they're mothers. The goal isn't to downplay your kids. It's to filter early for the men who see them as a plus.
When should I introduce someone to my children?
Not until he's shown, consistently and over time, that he's committed. The Playbook includes a clear framework for when and how.
I haven't dated in 15+ years. Is it too late?
No. Grace was widowed in her 60s and had never really dated. She met Stephen in her first month working with me. It's not about how long it's been. It's about having a plan.
Do I have to use dating apps?
No, but I'll show you how to use them on your terms if you choose to. I met my husband on Hinge.
